The Armadillo is a species of passive animal in Green Hell added in the animal update V.0.2.0
Basic Info[]
The Armadillo are a medium sized animal. They can be found on the forest floor in areas with high vegetation. Armadillos can usually be seen foraging for food by thrusting their snouts into loose soil to dig up grubs. They are quite skittish and if alarmed they will flee with surprising speed.
The Armadillo has a leathery armor shell which is resistant to arrows and attacks from most melee weapons. They can be hunted preferably with a ranged weapon such as a spear, or caught using traps. If pierced by a thrown spear the armadillo will flee, if the player continues to track and pursue the injured armadillo they may find it has bled to death. The player can then retrieve the spear and go on to harvest the animal. Easier would be to chase it a short distance, as it will roll into a ball of self-defense. From there, just harvest it to complete the kill, or tie-up the animal and carry it away.
Once dead, the Armadillo can be harvested for up to four pieces of raw Armadillo Meat and Armadillo Shell. The meat then can be cooked, smoked or dried and eaten.
