Food Poisoning
Basic Info[]
Food poisoning is any illness resulting from the bacteria in spoiled foods, as well as toxins in some foods such as poisonous mushrooms.
When the player receives food poisoning, the vomit icon will be displayed above the health meter. The number beside it will indicate the level of sickness.
A player who has food poisoning will lose valuable nutrients and fluids through vomiting. They will continue to vomit intermittently until they have been cured or when the sickness has run its course.
Causes[]
- Any spoiled consumable
- Monstera Deliciosa in flower form
- Unknown Mushroom 2
- Uncooked Cassava Bulb
- Uncooked Malanga Bulb
- Uncooked / cooked poison dart frog meat
- Drinking poisoned water
- Eating Unknown Herb B (flowers of Unknown Herb Plant 2)
Treatment[]
Food poisoning can be naturally fought off by the body over time, and this natural recover can be sped up by sleeping. However, larger doses of food poisoning will rapidly affect the player's health and can often result in death if left untreated.
- Bone brew (a bone used to make soup) can cure 3 stacks of food poisoning.
- Charcoal can be eaten as a cure but will have a small sanity penalty.
- Water lily can be eaten in its raw form (cures 2 stacks) or stewed.
- Eating Unknown Herb A (leaves of Unknown Herb Plant 2).
Once the ailment is treated, the player will need to replenish their nutrients and fluids lost during vomiting.
