The Maggot is a species of passive animal in Green Hell. They can be carried in the backpack and weigh 0.05 kg.

Basic Info

Maggots can be found in rotting corpses or harvested from spoiled meat. They are small in size but are easy to see in a rotten corpse. To collect maggots from a corpse press E to picking them up and place them in the backpack. Maggots can not be harvested, however they have several uses.

First Aid

Maggots play a vital role in dealing with an Infection. Applying maggots to an infected wound will remove the infection status after a short time and reduce the wound to a clean status. The wound will then need to be treated with a bandage.

Bait

Maggots can be used as bait when placed in fishing traps to catch angelfish and discus fish.

Cooking

Level of hydration changes based on the cooking vessel used 10* = half coconut shell
