Toxic Waste scrn 1

Poisoned Water

Purify Poisoned Waters is a quest action only available in the Spirits of Amazonia Game Mode added in V.2.1.0. The action appears as "Water purified" upon completion.

Story[]

After coming under attack from the natives, the cartel have decided to poison the local tribes. They have discarded toxic waste in major water sources to kill off the natives, so they can continue their work in peace. To gain the trust of the Un'garaca Village, the player will need to find and burn all the toxic waste.

Gameplay[]

Poisoned water has distinctive green contaminate flowing within it. Caution is advised, as stepping into poisoned water will give the player fever. This affliction will stack according to how long the player stays in contact with the water. The max amount of fever gained from walking or swimming in poisoned water caps at 10 stacks of fever. In some case the player may also become wounded with a small abrasion, which will need to be treated separately.

Because it is so easy to develop stacked fever and because there might be no safe water source near by, collecting toxic waste can be an especially hazardous task. The player can mitigate the risk by having plenty of fever treatments such as painkillers or bone brew readily available.

When finding a poisoned water source, follow along the edge of the river or pond until the bottles and jugs of toxic waste are located. The player will need to collect a total of six waste containers in each poisoned water area. Some will lie along the waters edge or behind rocks, while others may require the player to enter the water to reach them.

When close to a toxic waste container, press and hold E to pick it up. The toxic waste container will then automatically be placed into the translucent waste pile blueprint somewhere on the shore or stream bank. Once all six items of toxic waste have been collected, a blueprint for burning the waste will be automatically set down. The player will need to add small sticks, sticks and logs to build a bonfire on the blueprint. After the required wood has been added to the pile, the player will need to light it using a fire starting tool and tinder. Once the fire has been set alight, the player will earn 25 trust points with the Un'garaca people.

Two in-game days after burning the toxic waste in an area, the poisoned water will be purified and become safe to touch or drink. Once clean, the local fish will return to the waters.
