The Bullet Ant is a species of Aggressive animal in Green Hell.

Basic Info

Ant hills can be found throughout the forest. Even though ants cannot be seen clearly due to their small size, caution is advised when approaching ant hills as the ants will attack the player. When being attacked, the ants will bite and sting, potentially leaving the player with a rash. If the player stands for too long near the ant hill while being attacked, it will result in the player's death.

Ants can be collected from the ant hill and stored in the player's backpack. It is best to slowly approach the ant hill and press E to collect.
Approaching the ant hill while holding a lit torch will prevent ants from attacking the player, similar to how the torch functions when approaching a downed wasp nest.

Healing

Ants cannot be eaten, however, they can be used as stitches on deep cuts such as lacerations. This treatment will speed healing, although possibly less effectively than other treatments such as the Honey Dressing.

Anteaters and armadillos

Giant anteaters can be found near eating ants at anthills or just not at all, but seeing them there is not always the case. They are around anthills for a short time, then they go away and they won't show up again for around 6 in-game hours. This is probably due to the fact that real-life anteaters sleep for around 16h a day. However, armadillos and maybe even three banded armadillos will be around anthills for longer periods than anteaters.
