The River Stingray is a species of passive animal in Green Hell.

Basic Info

The river stingray can be found in shallow rivers. They are medium in size and can sometimes be easy to miss as they blend against the muddy river floor. Caution is advised when walking through shallow rivers. If the player steps too close to a stingray, it will sting the player and cause a venom wound and fever.

They can be killed with one hit by spear fishing or shot with a bow and arrow. Once dead, the river stingray can be harvested for 2 raw stingray meat. The meat then can be cooked on a fire, smoked or dried and eaten.

To remove the stingray from a spear and place it in the backpack, press E. To harvest the stingray from your backpack, first press Tab to open the backpack, then use the Right Mouse Button to harvest. If the player has no room to place the stingray into the backpack, press the Right Mouse Button and select harvest from the drop down menu while it is still on the spear.

Trivia

In update V.0.3.0 the stingray was removed from clear water ponds and re-distributed to the shallow rivers.
