Swimming
Swimming is a gameplay feature in Green Hell added during the water update V.0.3.0.
Gameplay[]
To swim, the player must move using the directional keys as if they were walking. Looking down while moving forward will make the player dive under the water.
When under water the player has a breathing meter which slowly drains. The player can stay underwater for 25 seconds before running out of air, at full health the player will have 10 seconds to resurface for air before they drown. The lower the players health the less time they will have to resurface before death occurs.
When swimming any weapons or tools are returned to the backpack and will be equipped when the player re-emerges from the water. The player will not be able to interact with the backpack or main HUD menus. They will however be able to pick up small items found underwater such as stones and sticks. This is quite useful for finding any arrows that have been misfired in to deep waters.
The player can take damaged and be killed while swimming or under water:
- The Red-Bellied Piranha will bite causing injury and will often pursue the player. Should the player stay still in the water after being attacked by a piranha they will be swarmed and die.
- Black Caiman are highly dangerous in the water and will instantly kill the player if attacked while swimming without the protection of armor.
