The Spirit Eater Legend
The Spirit Eater is a legend quest only available in the Spirits of Amazonia Game Mode.
Basic Info[]
Eight legend stones will need to be found and read by the player for the spirit eater legend. After reading a legend stone, it will be logged in the players notebook under the second tab. Here the player can keep track of all clues found.
Once all the spirit eater legend stones have been read, the player will need to find and destroy the amulets mentioned in the legend. Polaroids will provide the player with clues as to where the amulets are hidden. Provided the player has picked up the polaroids, the photos of each location can be viewed by scrolling past the last page of the maps.
To finalize the spirit eater legend, the player will need to destroy all four blue amulets and return to the elder at the Habbacu Village. Speaking to the elder will finalize the quest, earning the player 100 trust points. The spirit eater legend will then be crossed out in the notebook.
Legend Meaning[]
The Spirit Eater legend is the story of love between an outsider and a Habbacu tribal woman, named Sat'noh. The tribe describe the stranger as having a "flaming head", possibly meaning he has red hair. His weapon is described as a "bolt of lightning" which is most likely a camera, due to the polaroids found near the village. Hence the flashing of the camera, made the natives believe he is carrying a weapon which "enslaves the tribe's spirits". In conclusion, the stranger is most possibly a nature & wildlife photographer.
The legend describes the marriage of the stranger and Sat'noh as being forced, but it is more likely that both the curious Sat'noh and the red headed photographer fell in love. Sat'noh places four amulets around the jungle as a way to protect their love. This could be due to the mistrust of outsiders. Sat'noh is using the amulets as a way to either protect her husband from others or as a way to prevent her husband from leaving her.
A Letter to Sat'noh from the stranger reveals his name to be M. Silviera. He writes in the letter he has responsibilities, and the tribe are afraid of him. From the contents of the letter, it can be assumed that he leaves Sat'noh behind to go back home. This results in her falling into despair and dying from a broken heart, possibly by suicide.
